I've held my bike at a constant 120 MPH on a long stretch....there was no "tank slapping" or anything else....in fact it was smooth and stable. I consistently ride at 80 MPH with cruise on, stereo playing, with one hand on the bar. if these were tank slappers I coun't do that.

Over 6K miles in windy conditions....also never had any "buffeting" from the fairing.

As soon as ANY motorcycle gets over 15 MPH, the handling changes in to a Gyro effect, meaning you aren't turning these so called" heavy" batwing front ends anyway...we are all counter steer/leaning. Any of these bikes is going to feel heavy.....Compared to my old 300 lb. Cafe Racer at least!

I really never get any of this. My bike is extremely stable at all speeds and conditions.

Boy ain't this the truth

Depending on what one is riding, you know their answer........LOL
Go test ride both bikes, or better yet, Rent each for a couple days
Thats what I did!

While the the RG may handle better, the batwing handles just fine. It just comes down to looks.

I have noticed a lot more RG bikes in Oklahoma since MOCO came out with the CVO and Ultra RG.

Default Street Glide vs Road Glide

Lots of opinions here about the Street Glide vs Road Glide, and lots of good advice, i.e., ride both, then decide for yourself. My first Harley was a Sporty and then I traded for a Road Glide. I converted my Road Glide to a Ultra Classic Road Glide. I traded my Road Glide Ultra Classic for the 105th Anniversary Screamin' Eagle Ultra Classic Electra Glide. After 47,000 miles on the Ultra, I traded for my current Road Glide Custom. I just like the looks and handling of the Road Glide over the Ultra. My wife's first bike was a Sporty, and she traded her Sporty for a Softail Deluxe. After 35,000 miles on the Deluxe she traded for a Street Glide. She compares going from the Sporty to the Deluxe like going from a Mustang to a Cadillac, and going from the Deluxe to the Street Glide like going from a Cadillac to a Rolls Royce. I've ridden her Street Glide and much prefer my Road Glide. Again, it comes down to personal preference. You gotta ride both and then decide for yourself.

The most common criteria to switch to a RG (Fugly) from the "Batwing" is sitting down when you take a leak, as any and most Fugly riders I assume, are starting to or are already doing ! .......

Kinda sorry....just say'in !

i have a road glide and an ultra, and have been riding since the early 70s. the difference between the 2 are negligible in my opinion.each one has its nuances.i enjoy them equally.
