This is like the Marine/Navy deal. We're all brothers but will talk **** too each other every chance we get. I've never rode the RG, own an SG after riding a FatBoy for the last 4 years. I love my SG and it handles great. I ride 50+ miles each way on the highway to work everyday and have no problems. I'm sure the RG is great, just not for me. That is why the MoCo makes more than one bike, there is more than one rider. Individuality is just that, rent them both, test ride, whatever it takes. Buy the one that makes you excited to ride and get at it.

Don't like the FUGLY that is exactly what it is! What can I say I am shallow and looks matter to me. The SG looks much better and is more functional to me. But when I had to choose after riding all three I went with the RK. Like I said I am shallow and the RK looked the best to me.

Default Rg sg had both on same frame

My 2006 was a roadglide and it was converted to a batwing, so my experience is same rider, same bike. I can honestly say the RG is far superior in every way, cornering, wind, buffeting, even cosmetics. You look at the gauges and stereo on the RG at a better angle. The side pockets are great, and with a big windshield you are protected as good as the SG in the rain.
I traded out my RG fairing for a Batwing because a friend of mine who is parapalegic was looking for a roadglide fairing for his electraglide and sidecar combo. He could not handle the wind buffeting on the batwing as he does not have the use of his legs to help stabilize him. He was on the verge of giving up riding. Since we switched front ends and he has the RG fairing you can see him going down the road with one hand on the bars and a big SH** eating grin on his face.

Having had both bikes I love them both. Here where I am from RG's are exrtremely unpopular. Our HD dealer will only special order them as he can't sell them on spec. Ride a RG around my area and get ready for the Honda Davidson jokes.
Oh Yeah- My favorite point brought up to me is "how do you see going around corners", which to me immediately tells me that person knows nothing about bikes. If you are going arond a corner at 60mph and your headlights are pointed in a different direction as you or your bars are You may not want to see where you are going because it's gonna hurt.
Bottom line is WHAT DO YOU WANT, both are beautiful bikes

Question...
I have heard that the side pods on the new SG's help with buffeting ... True?

I rode a batwing for 10 years , after riding a roadglide for a year I would never go back to a batwing , looks is personal , you like it or you don't , ride and handling the road glide wins hands down , I would ride on windy days with a huge cross wind on my batwing and if I rode much above 70mph it beat me to death , the other day I was out in these conditions and came up on 5 batwings running below 70mph and you could see the wind pushing them all over the road , I passed them running 85mph with hand on the bars , thats the difference , the only thing I like better about the batwing is if you run up on rain without rain gear on you might be able to tuck in and stay dry , roadglide it won't happen you better stop and get your rain gear on

Buy what you like. Having had the experience of riding the Street and Eltras I prefer the handling the Road Glide and thats what I ride. Just my 2 cents............. They're all great bikes, comes down to your preference.
