Default Sears Red Jack

OK guys, I know we have gone over this subject before and I am not trying to beat a dead horse here, but I was all set to buy this Sears Jack based on member recommendations when I came across this review on the Sears web listing of the red jack.

"I wish I would have known about these reviews before I wasted money on this thing. It is way too high to get under any street bike. It makes it very awkward to roll the bike onto pieces of wood to get it high enough to get the jack under it. Unlike other reviews I have had no trouble with the jack (yet) it lifts strong and is very stable, but if you have a big heavy cruiser like I do this thing will not just roll under it and lift like advertised."

According to the jack specs its lowest height is 5-1/8 inches. My EG Classic is 4" on the left side and 6" on the right when on the kickstand. Standing upright it has a 5" clearance. No way this will slide under my scoot when it's on the kickstand or even if I hold it upright which I really don't want to have to do. It kinda defeats the whole idea of being able to easily lift your bike. How do you use this? Anyone out there run across this problem?

If you have had it less than 1 year, take it back for a refund. It only has a one year warrenty and you will not be satisfied. Check out this one. I will be replacing my "red" Sears jack with this one. www.jsjacks.com

I use one with my Street Glide. Not sure of the clearance, off hand, but all I do is roll the rear tire onto a 1/2-inch thick board. I grab the right handle bar and straighten the bike up as I push the jack under the bike. Works fine, very stable.

Having said that, the only reason I'm using the red jack is because I bought it when I had my Fat Boy. The jack worked perfectly since the Fat Boy had more ground clearance. If I were to buying another jack today, I'd get the yellow Sears jack which is lower, or one of the others (more costly) that I've seen posted here. Unfortunately I can't remember the manufacturer's names.

I have the RED one. it will fit under my Ultra, but barely....wisg I had the yellow one. The $300 is nice, but I do not use the jack that often to justify that cost..the $169 yellow one is bad enought.

Yellow one slides right under my Classic and works great.

I use my yellow Sears jack all the time. My only complaint is the handle comes out too easy when dragging it. As far as use it's great.

You need to slide the lift under the bike from the high side (right) when it's on the jiffy stand. Slide as far as it will go, and pull the bike upright as you slide it under.

If you use the red just put back tire on 2x4 for clearance. 100.00 saved vice yellow.
