It can be adjusted back about an inch from the factory. If you need more room Kuryakyn and George Anderson make brackets that you can put on to adjust another 3-4 Inches.

Mine was shipped in pieces... The shell, luggage rack, bottom bracket, hinges, and lock mechanism all came individual. I made sure to install it on the rear holes for that extra inch.
