At about the same price the RKC is far and away the better value.

I'd go new. Then it's your to do anything you want with it, don't have to worry about inheiriting someone else's problems and you get all of the latest and greatest upgrades.

Buying the slate on which to create, that is half the fun. The newer bike IMO would be the better bang for the buck, logically. But we are talking about something that is emotional and illogical. If that CVO really rocks your world, then buy it, everything can be fixed. Always trust your instincts, what did your gut tell you initially, go with that.

This correct.

Usually I answer the old frame vs new frame question with buy the newest you can afford, but I would have trouble with this one. I like CVOs and the way they look. The new frame is certainly better, but the old frame still rides very well. If the dealer would give throw in some kind of warranty on the engine, I probably go with the CVO. If the engine does turn out to be junk, the dealer pays for the fixes and you can resale the bike for close to what you have in it.

I ran into the same thing last summer. Was looking for at RK or SG, dealer got in an 07 RK SERK with 2K, it is the blue color and is absoutely beautiful.

I was aware of the 07/08 probs, I asked the dealer to pull out the Extended warrant cost book and sell me a one year warranty at cost. He did and I bought. It was like cheap insurance, worst case scenario I traded in a year, I paid about $18,400 for the bike if that helps. It had Reinhart duals and Race Tuner already done. I love the bike, the 110 is a blast to ride and the bike being decked out is a ton of fun to own!

I would go with the CVO for the reasons everyone else already stated... no point in repeating.
