Default Stock Header -vs- true dual

Check this out. I have now read several of these types of test and this is why I went with a 2-1. Check out this link

To me it is insignificant..my V&H Dresser duals showed up yesterday...hope to install next week....If power was my goal, I would not have bought a Harley! Fow what guys spend to do a desent 95" and heads, I could buy a very good used ZX-10/11. Now that is true power! I remember when they first came out and that add was "Change of underwear not included."

No big surprise there, it's pretty well known that true duals are for sound/appearance but are at the bottom of the heap performance wise.

You are right about that. This topic always comes up so I thought I would point it out.

Yep, Duals are lower on the performance totem pole than lots of other choices. I knew as soon as I bolted mine and and rode the first mile, I had taken a hit. With some lollipop baffles and a DFO, I tuned it up to run pretty darn good. I know the bike would run better with a good 2 into 1, though. However, a header just wouldn't look right on my bike.

Nothing beats the feeling of a motor that wants to pull out from under you when you twist the throttle, no matter how fast your initial speed is... go with torque options... the more the better! Just add a good sounding set of slip-ons.

All I can say is, if have never tried a 2 into 1, then at least try one time, you will never go back.
If you want the tru dual look, there are several 2 into 1's on the market that offer a dummy ( ghost) pipe for the left side.
D & D Facat , Thunderheader, probably the 2 best 2 into 1 on the market, both offer the dummy pipe for the dual look.
I've had them all, once I put a 2 into 1 on mine 03 FLHT and rode it, I never thought about going back.

Just My 2 cents

Tony
