Default Does deleated heel shifter cause abnormal shift-shaft ware??

I want to remove my heal shifter on my '12 FLTRX simply because I don't use it and I would like the extra room. I removed it on my last EG and had to replace the shift-shaft seals at aprox 10K miles. So my question is...does not having it on cause abnormal ware in the shaft?? Its not That big of a deal to keep it if removing it is going to cause added ware. Am I over thinking this? I tend to do that.

Default also...

you can get a cheap little chrome spline cover that finishes up the removal nicely.

Yes. Apparently the heel part counter-balances the the weight of the front part of the shifter. Removing the heel will do irreversible damage to the shafts in the transmission and all even numbered gears will strip, and you will have to use synthetic oil mixed with nitro methane to even ride it.
K. I'm being a smart ***. Cut it off if you want to.

Yea that cheap little chrome cover will cost you about 20 bucks at the stealership. At least that's what mine was.

it would probably have less wear. the pedal would just sit forward all the time instead of bouncing back and fourth.. most bikes ever built have only had a toe shifter, none of them have ever had problems.. i wish i could get rid of mine for the room. i just cant live with out it.. feels like im getting shin splints lifting the toe shift up.. i have been riding with a heal/toe shift since i was 21yo.. it only bothers me when riding with floorboards thou..
