I always wave unless i am coming up on a rough part of the road or I am shifting, breaking or see something up ahead that needs my attention. If someone doesn't wave back I assume that is also their reason for not waving. Its only a wave folks. Don't take it personally. Enjoy the ride.
Wave?? I too busy watching out for some Dumba$$ talking on their cell, changing CDs or just not seeing bikes in general to worry about other bikers. I don't know I guess I didn't buy a scooter in hopes others will notice me and wave, bought it to relax and enjoy the ride and NOT worry about anything (other than getting run over)......beside I agree its kinda gay.
Hey, THAT was a great response!!! And it just goes to prove that some of the people who don't wave aren't worth the aggrevation. It doesn't sound like this typeperson has the ability to enjoy the ride with all the meathead cagers on the road. Those typesprobably shouldn't take one hand off the bars anyway. So letthem concentrate sothey don't run into us.
People with attitudes like that are doing us a favor by NOT associating themselves with the brotherhood of real motorcyclists. Do me a favor and don't wave.I am man enough not to worry that your weak mind considers a wave to be gay.
For the past 37 years, I have and I will continue to extend my hand and wave in friendship and in the passing moment of commonality. However, there are times when I am in the zoneandonly notice the passing rumble of a fellow rider. So I usuallythink thatthe non-waver was in the groove or enjoying themselves so muchthat theyjust didn't notice me either.
Anyway, ride and enjoy the moment! Do what makes you happy and don't let others discourage you from your path.
For what it's worth I wave to all fellow bikers and could really care less about their reaction. I will say it is nice to receive a return 'whats up' but if not it doesn't bother me.
I have waved at every passing motorcycle for the past 38 years. Until now I've only ridden metrics and I found there were 2 types of riders that didn't wave back. 1) Most Harley Riders and 2) Younger riders on any bike that didn't seem to know the common bond of wavingto fellowmotorcyclists.
Too bad it seems to be a dying "art form". I'll continue to do my part.
