Default Dumbest question ever posted

2003 FLHRCI

Where the frack is the VIN stamped?

This is a "new to me" bike I got last fall. Was putting new throttle cables on and admiring how clean the steering head and downtubes look. Then I realized, I have no clue where the VIN is. I have 1/2 a sticker on the right side down by the voltage regulator, but noting on the frame (that I can see). I have no doubts that the bike is legit, it was a local purchase, and talked to the service guys at two different dealers that worked on it and I have a clean title.

So, what am I missing? Feel like a dope here.....

On your Title. or on my 2010 it is on the frame on the right side. if I remeber correctly it is on the Neck of the frame. Should be Stamped not on a sticker.

Yea, is on the neck on my 2010 too. It was on the spine of the frame near the neck on my '96. I usually pull the stickers, and was about to on this one, that's when I realized I can't find the stamped VIN.

Well HD has put them on the neck for quite some time since I am sure you looked there and you gave us a clue to the 1/2 sticker I am willing to bet that the frame has been changed those stickers even with a heat gun are a bitch to remove (so I have heard ) that is why I think there is only a 1/2 sticker Harleys have been worked on by many many DIYers and Indy's it wouldn't surprise me at all to have a clean title and a frame change

Should be STAMPED somewhere in that region. Sometimes they hide the damned thing. I've owned 4 bikes (Kawi, Honda, 2 Harleys) and they were all right in the same general vicinity.

I am assuming you know the VIN cause it's printed on the "clean title". Is that correct?

The 1/2 a sticker down by the voltage regulator is peeling off from rubbing with the cable tie that is used to keep the clutch cable against the frame down there. My concern is, with most of it gone, and no frame stamp it'll be a bitch to get inspected let alone resell (if I ever do that). I love the bike but.....

IIRC its on the right side near the neck. May have to pull back a wire harness to find it.

On the 08 King, the V.I.N. is stamped on the right side of the frame backbone at the rear of the steering head under the main wiring harness. A label bearing the V.I.N. code is also affixed to the left side of the steering head. Hope this helps.
