new tires

New tires have a release agent (film) on them from the manufacturing process - this makes them slick.
I run my bike with new tires on some gravel road surface ( with caution-slow speed) to scuff the surface and get the film off.

You might want to check the connector that plugs into the left side of the throttle body. They have been known to cause problems. Pop it loose and place a little dielectic (or similar) grease on the pins and make sure it snaps into place when putting it back together. Mine acts up about 2 or 3 times a year....it's good to (immediately) know what's happening when running down the road in traffic. I've learned to make a beeline for the shoulder at the first sign of trouble.

Check your coil wires too. Could be loose.

The dealership guys that usually wash the bikes are on the low end of the pay scale and usually do not know enough to stay away from the aircleaner. They probably used a direct stream on it.
