Default Starter Replacement Help

Good Morning HD Nation !!

I recently finished a complete custom project on my 2000 Electra Glide Classic Carb'd (Pics in my Mulatto Album), and I need help/advice replacing my starter.

I'm going with an All ***** 1.4kw Starter. Part Number 80-1001 for 89-06 Big Twin Models (2006 Dyna) replaces OEM numbers 31559-99A and 31335-03A (I believe that's the right one based on research).

Is this hard to replace? I don't even know where it's located. Note: I have true duals, they don't go underneath.

Any advice or guidance in locating the starter and steps to replace it would be greatly appreciated.

A service manual page scan of the pertinant info would be awesome also. (It's a stretch I know, Thanks in advance).

Dude, just buy the service manual. It's like $50 tops and it will help you again in the future, I'm sure.

This may not be the job for you, think about getting help.

working on machines requires a certain mechanical aptitude, where just looking at an assembly gives an understanding of the relations of the parts.

If you haven't done this on the family car, you may not want to try doing this on your bike.

If you have a keen interest, then get the manual because you will enjoy reading it over, all the sections.
Think about an auto 101 course at a community college. They'll start you off with best practices.
