I need some help guys. I have a 2005 road king with a carb. It cranks and idles fine when cold. After riding for a while and the bike is good and hot it idles high. You can shut it off and let it cool down some, about five or ten minutes and it will idle fine again. Any suggestion would be a great help. I'm pretty good with wrench's just new to working on a Harley. Thanks

Reason: Typo
Check for air leaks with WD40 or Carb cleaner where the manifold seals to the heads. Had that same problem with my '04 Sportster. Installed some new James Intake seals and cured the problem.
Always set your idle speed with the engine hot. They ( carburator engines) all idle slower when cold and than when hot.
If you set your idle speed too low when hot it will not idle when cold.
I have not tried to adjust yet. I wanted to do my homework and get some feedback before I start tweaking. I should have mentioned that it is a 95in with 510g cams, se breather kit and se ignition, and vance and hines pipes. Not sure what's been done to carb All mods were done when I bought it. Except for the high idle it runs like a dream. Thanks for the help
as pointed out above, once you adjust the idle hot, you'll just use the "enricher" for cold starts. the pull out has a knurled tension **** behind it on the mount.
Make sure your idle speed is high enough to get proper oil pressure.
If you look down in your carb while operating the throttle, you'll see the idle screw move against the stop. With the bike full hot(after about 5-10 miles), turn the screw veeeeery slowly out (loosening, or counter-clockwise) until you get the lope you desire. Make sure the choke is all the way in.
