Default Kickstand help on lowered bike

I just finished putting chrome lowers at same time i did progressive monotubes lowered 1 inch on front, rear is also lowered one inch, but now when i go to put sidestand down it just barely goes down unless i lean bike to right. What i am worried about is when i park it if ground isnt perfectly level the bike barely has any lean or worse if it is unlevel wants to sit almost straight. i have a 2011 ultra classic is there a shorter kickstand or is there something i can do maybe cut stand and reweld ? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated thanks .

I had my bike lowered 1" front and rear and had the same problem. I searched for a fix for this problem and the only thing I found is that some people had their stands heated and bent upwards. I went back to stock suspension for other reasons and that solved my problem.

The only other possibility at the time was the fact that all or some of the earlier 09 touring bikes had stands that were too short and the stock height bikes leaned over too far. The problem was finding one of those kickstands, as when the dealer replaced the short stands they kept them and I understand they would not give them away or sell them. That's been a couple of years ago and my memory is a little foggy on the details.

The newer frames have the kickstand mounted differently than earlier models where you could install a wedge behind the mount that would angle the kickstand upwards.

Good luck with your situation. Maybe somebody makes a shorter aftermarket kickstand now.

lower bike= lowered stand.

there are blocks, custom shortened legs etc.

My fxr is down 4", the stand was bent with heat

with help:

heat stand ( not on concrete which can absorb moisture, then burst when boiled)- once cherry red, push bike over to desired park angle.

let cool

if your stand is chromed, get one of those leather wrap doo hickeys to cover the scars.

that is the quickest, cheapest and most effective because you set the angle.

this topic comes up fairly often, do a search and you'll get some less "guerilla" solutions
