Default TBW Twist Grip Sensor errors

I installed new handlebars over the weekend and now my bike is throwing the following codes:

P1512
P2122
P2127
P2138

I think I probably damaged the TBW sensor when I was running the wires. So I'm thinking I'll hit the dealership tomorrow to buy a new one, probably p/n 32310-08.

But here's my question: Can I plug the new one in to test it without running it through the bars first? And if I do, will that clear up the codes and let the bike run right again?

Also, my cruise light is blinking now, too. Is that related to the TBW issue, or is something different going wrong?

Check all your connections ..sure you can plug it in without running it through the bars

Yup, bad connection. I pulled the damn green connector apart while pulling the wires through the bars, so I had a big ol' air gap in the throttle wires. Plugged it back together and cleared the codes and it's all good now.

Glad it was an easy fix for ya.... I have a question to add.

I'm getting ready to install apes on my 12 SG and was wondering if I can just fun some 16 ga or 18 ga wires through the bars... hanging out of each side... Cut the existing wires in the middle and just solder to each end of the wires pulled through the bars. This way I would not have to worry about pulling any of the TBW through the bars... Opinions appreciated here....

Mine felt so tight at the green connector in the bars I took it back apart and bought the SE throttle with longer wires. BTW when I pulled it back out the green connector had pulled apart and clip was broken from pulling on it.

Seems like that might work, but I'd be afraid to try with my soldering skills.
