Relocating license plate, need help
I'm going to be relocating my license plate to under the stop lamp on my 05 RK. I plan on removing the old license plate bracket and support bar. I believe this bar is also part of the fender support. I saw a small lamp in the JP catalog that would take care of this, but I was hoping to do it in simple chrome. Has anyone here done this mod?, how did you fix up the old bracket area?....Thanks.

Last week-end I saw a Street Glide where the owner simply cut-off the support tube (which has the two threaded screw mounting locations for the license plate) about 3/4" past the ends of the chrome fender strut covers and covered the pipe with chrome caps (probably HotToppers of the appropriate i.d.)--it looked good to see the fender without the crossover chrome pipe. Also, I believe Direct Parts or J&P Cycles sell a chromed cone insert that has a very small light at its tip that look good also.
