cam area"whine"

cam area"whine"

is it normal to hear such a noise from the cam area ? i took the cover off ,all looks good , re torqued the primary and crank gear , maybe im being paranoid

Is this a new noise? How long have you had the bike? Do you know for sure it does not have gear driven cams?

I would check the inner cam bearings.

Just noticed this on mine... swapped out the cam with a new Andrews (used the gear that came with it) a couple hundred miles ago. noted a noise but only recently followed it to the cone. New Torrington inner and brass bushing on the outside, shimmed properly and felt good all around. Mechanic friend told me the gear was the wrong size, now the question is, will this lash cause problems or just noise? 1998 1340 EVO Andrews cam, Fueling lifters, $&$ rockers and shafts.
