The adjustable one is worth it to me. I usually don't move it, but when I do it's a plus.
On long days, I need to adjust it to make me sit up straighter at the end of the day.

I use the non-adjustable. Set it and forget it. On long rides I tend to stop every 2 - 2 1/2 hours to stretch, so my back never aches .

Everyones back is different so it needs to be adjustable or have a wide range of adjustment so you cam zero in on the sweetspot where it feels real comfortable. Of its not its going to be a generic fit and will accomdate everyone. If its too think it will look stupid ehen no one is on it thats why for me, the Mustang backrest allows me to zero in on where it needs to be and narrow in size so it doesnt look stupid when up there by itself...there are others Im sure, but this combo works for me and the condition of my back.

Default Anthing is better than no backrest

I had the adjustable model worked into the price of my new bike. Love it as much or more as my Goldwing's rest, couldn't do a trip without it.

after i loan my cage to someone it takes me a long time to get it back to the perfect position for me (should have gotten a seat with memory) so I got the nonadjustable backrest for the bikes - find the right setup & leave it be

Makes a big difference to be able to adjust that thing perfectly for every situation.

I've installed non-adjustables on my last three baggers. I'm happy... they work for me. Once they're in the comfortable position, I can find no reason to move it around. Your mileage may vary...

To each his own, however I love the adjustable on my bike. I find that I move it around as the day goes on. Nice to have it all the forward when pushing the bike backwards too.
