Default Rider backrest

I'm going to install a rider backrest on the electra glide and was wondering if the extra money is worth getting the adjustable one?

Is the adjustable one that much better? Do you guys without the adjustable one ever say,,damn I wish I would have just spent the money and bought the adjustable one??

I installed the regular backrest on my '06 FLHTC. I found that it pushed me forward enough to be uncomfortable. The back rest is about 1 1/2" thick. I took it to an auto upholsterer and had it thinned out so it didn't change my riding position. Worth thinking about. See if the dealer will let you put it on your bike.

Yep, adjust it once and forget it.

I LOVE the adjustable backrest on my '09 Ultra. I usually leave it in one specific position when I'm on short day rides but for longer rides I move it often depending on how my back is feeling.

I have the non-adjustable one. I just didn't think that the extra money for the adjustable one was worth it. Just get it set and leave it alone.

Adjustable is always the best solution. I have a Mustang seat with the Mustang adjustable backrest. Wearing different jackets with backs of different thickness, I find it necessary to make some small comfort adjustments from time to time. For me, there is no just "set it and forget it" because I might be wearing a thickly padded leather jacket one day in cold weather then a thin air flow jacket the next. Makes a big difference to be able to adjust that thing perfectly for every situation.

Adjustable... It is so nice to be able to adjust one's sitting position from time to time.
