You forgot to add the Goldwing and Victory Vision to the list...[/QUOTE) BTW-Goldwing??? Are you f-----g kidding? Don't they have a filter on this site to protect us from this?
The truth sometimes hurts. I traded a 2010 Limited that I really enjoyed for 15 mos.,26k
miles,41 states on a Vision last Aug. Other than not quite as much storage the Vic. beats the Limited
in all aspects IMO.Power,handling,comfort,lighting,ease/cost of maint. and after $2k in
The finest touring motorcycle ever built is the GoldWing - I have owned 3 of them & they gave me many thousands of trouble free miles - just add gas & change the oil now & then - I just sold my 2008 I bought new - I also have a BMW R1100RT - touring bike - great bike - couple of months ago I rode it to Vegas - 1,300 miles round trip - was in rain - wind - snow - did I say WIND! - Great wind protection and comfort - With that said my 07 E-Glide isn't the best at anything except the fun factor - I like old school - my glide isn't that old but I really like the feel of the bike & the old school look - The goldwing can be so perfect that it's boring! The BMW not so much - it does have personality - not as much as the Glide - Now my old BMW r65 isn't a touring bike but lot's of folks toured on them back in the day - Just like the glide the r65 has that special feeling when you ride it - Old School - The perfect touring bike - I guess that's a personal choice - In 1968 I would have said a 650 Triumph or a BSA - I do know the older I get the more pockets I need - I would be lost on a trip with out a top trunk -Just a note - I haven't owned the Glide long enough to take a long trip on it yet, so my feelings might change - I will keep the RT unilt I have a couple of longer trips under my belt with the Ultra - tom
Thanks everyone for your post. Guess I should had been a little more specific I was looking for a vote on your favorite HD touring model. I'm also a Goldwing fan and a long time Honda rider...but I think my Ultra Classic is the best bike I've ever had.
I prefer the one I have my *** on - Road King. And for you guys preaching all that bullshit about metrics being so much better, I say go find another forum!
2005 FLHTCU, 1999 Heritage, 2002 Heritage, 2008 Heritage, all rode well east to west, north to south. Just bought a 2012 FLHCU to ride to California this year,I'm sure it will do the job also.

Take all the metric parts off your bike & see how it runs get real - this is 2012 - Remove all the Metric built stuff out of our HD catalog - you wouldn't have enough paper to wipe your *** on - join the real world - up until this year, Goldwings were built in Marysville, Ohio - All that chrome you bought for your RK - where in the hell do you think it was made - not in the USA - wish it was but thats not the way it is -

Uhhh, you're on an HD forum. I could care less what the **** you ride, but you need to find a nice gold wing forum to bash HD.
Since the Road Glide Ultra just came out its sort of unfair to even include it. And I've never heard of the Road Glide Classic???? why didn't you just put the Road Glide down and it would of won for sure. JM2C.....so I voted for the Road Glide Ultra, since mine has the tour pak optional.
