I am 5' 10" and have the Road King High Bars. I never even think of taking my hands off the bars on long trips. No more back pain at all.

Just put some KW +2 sweepers on the bike a couple weeks ago. Being in WI, it will be couple months before I can actually ride but just sitting on the bike I can feel my neck/shoulder tension disappear..

18" apes are most comfortable for me. I was surprised at the difference between the stock bars and the apes on long rides. But, as previously mentioned, you have to find your comfort zone.

HD reduced reach 56166-08 did the trick for me.

Removed the neck, back, pain.

I had rotated the stock bars back and observed that my hands rested on the bars between my palm and the first knuckle of my fingers. The new bars fit in my palm.

I put a thread together of the install when I did them;

Helibars Horizon ES....expensive but well worth it. They are fully adjustabe, so if your not 100% happy with your position you can change it. If you catch them at one of the major rallys they are usually there and include the installation in the price.

On my Road King the best bars I found were 14" Wild One apes. A number of multi-thousand mile rides with them including a bun burner Iron Butt ride (1500 miles in 36 hours). They were the most comfortable bar I have ever had and that included the Road King High Bars.

On my SG I have 12.5 Wild One bars and while I like them and they look great, nowhere near as comfortable as the ones on the King.

By the way, I am 6'0 and of the long armed variety.

15500 miles in 36 hours? The hell with your bars, what have you done to your engine? that's 430.5 mph average. Damn good my man.
