Wow! I am glad I procrastinated in doing the mod. Curious though because I thought there was technically a state or federal regulation prohibiting it - guess not.
If you don't use the acc switch for anything you can switch the orange acc wire and the yellow low beam wire in the fairing cap/ switch housing connector. No splicing and can be returned to stock any time. I've done a couple of bikes that I didn't have to remove any parts, just fish the connector out of the right side of the switch housing.

Just cause the MOCO sells it don't mean it's legal in all 50 states. WV handlebar regs (15" above the seat) make a stock Crossbones illegal but they sell them eveyday. I ride at night a lot so the extra light is more important than some outdated state reg. Haven't had a problem in 38k miles running the passing lamps full time.
