Default Cherry Red ?

I went for an oil change last fall and saw this Cherry Limited on the floor. Left over 2011. They made me a deal I thought I could not refuse.

My wife loves the color but I am not so sure. I have added V&H dressers with the 4" classic turn downs, TTS, Big sucker and some chrome doodads since this pic.

If I want to sell and get another bike, CVO, How much do you all think this color combo might affect my ability to sell? Advantage or not?

I know any new owner will take a pretty good hit this soon, but I am thinking this one might be difficult to get out of.

Thoughts?

anyone looking at the bike knows it a Limited with all the doo-dads that come with and the 103 upgrade ( which is now std.)

if you are not sure about the color, you could always repaint or buy another set of tins and swap parts.
My take on it is that you only notice the color when you are trying to find your bike at Sturgis.
When you are riding it, you are not aware of the color and it doesn't matter

you mention CVO.

The Limited may have limited appeal and may not carry the higher sticker price forward.
I think that is even more a factor on the CVO or other "special" bikes dreamed up by the marketing dept.

The typical CVO models are colors /chemems I wouldn't want and a bunch of chrome stuff added on I wouldn't want---but that's me. I want a cheap basic bike that I add the things I want, and use the left over cash to buy additional bikes

some I know rather have the limited than the CVO due to cost appeal. I am one of those. BTW....nice putt !

I don't know that we could quantify the resale value of a certain color motorcycle. My friend saw one like yours and snapped it up. Me, I'm not fond of the "cherry" color. There is no accounting for peoples preferences in color. I've seen that color reversed on a 2010 Limited where the merlot is on the top and the red is on the bottom and I like it. Go figure.

By the way, Brilliant Silver Pearl isn't my most favorite color, but I like it and I bought the new leftover 2011 EGC in October 2011 at a good price. I'd rather it be Big Blue Pearl and Vivid Black, but I'm not payin' to have it painted. So there are, as you know, many things that influence the decision to buy a particular motorcycle.

Best money says, "live with it". I wish you the best in your decision.

The bike will sell. Just list it in some classifieds and here on HDF. You might also ask your dealer if they'll sell the bike on consignment.

What don't you like about the color combo?

Something drew you to the bike originally, what was it?

If it were mine I'd be looking to add more red to the bike. Painted inner fairing, various motor part inserts. Think outside the box some.

It would be worth dropping a few dollars into this bike as opposed to taking a potential loss selling it.

Scarlett Red is one of my favorite colors they've done recently. Red isn't going to be everyones bag, but you only need one buyer.
Unless you've got money to burn, I would keep what you've got and change what you need to make you happy. That's a super nice bike, and a 1 year only color you won't see very often.

Thanks guys...

I had a bad color bike that I almost had to give away before and was afraid I had done it again. That bike was Gold though, and I lived with five years of people telling me what a bad color. I kinda liked it and now that it is gone I think I like it more now.

BTW if you live in Tenn and bought this bike in Chicago, I still have the race tuner and other stock parts for it. long shot I know but with as many members here, maybe.

Live and learn.

FYI its not in the Bible "Thou Harley Shall be Black" I think that color is awesome, Just like the 2003 CVO king above with the gold paint. My bike is copper pearl. Sticks out like a sore thumb at a Bike rally. Something thousand in chrome wont do for you.

Black Harley or off color arguement on this board is
