Talking Guesses on HP and TQ numbers for the new build?

Hey guys,

Things are finally coming together on my 2007 Ultra Classic build. Parts are showing up so I can start reassembling. I have looked alot through the forums trying to see what kind of power comprable builds are making. I have found some close, but nothing that fits what im doing right on.

Im curious on what you guys would expect this combo to make at the wheel, even in the neighborhood. Be nice to have some sort of expectation before its strapped down for the breakin and tuning.

Heres the build:

-SE 103" top with forged 10.5:1 slugs - Matched to 515 grams
-Stock heads with a heavy port and 1.90/1.630 valves geometry corrected by Baisley with Bailsey roller rockers and springs. SE MCR's
-SE 50MM TB with bigger injectors and SE Heavy Breather filter
-Vance And Hines Propipe 2 into 1
-Woods TW 408-6 cams and lifters custom with length NA push rods
-Darkhorse crank with H-beams pinned/welded/trued - SE compensator
Double lefty bearings
-SE billet camplate (bushed type) with SE oil pump
-TTS mastertune. Custome tune, not cookie cutter tune - 91 octane
-30/68 Gearing

Just wondering what to expect so theres no letdown with the end result.

Hoping to have it dynoed and tuned on March 24th.

Thanks in advance for any opinions!

-Ryan

Did Baisley do the port work as well as correct the geometry? If so, what flavor of their work did you get? Super Stock, Hybrid......

That will depend a lot on the results, but I'll go out on a limb and say 125 square.

I have a good friend who is a mathmatical genious and does some amazing port work. He is doing it up nice. Complete with a polish and 5 angle. The ports did grow substancially to match the intake/tb and exhaust. I'd say its an agressive port job.

I didn't see any mention of any clutch work, are you going to a VPC? or sticking with stock? or something else?

The bike has a SE heavy duty spring installed at this time. I will definately be doing a clutch upgrade in the future, the budget ran low for it now. Im hoping it will hold up long enough to save the funds for replacment.

Is there a clutch upgrade that people have had good luck with that doesent make the lever pull tons harder?

I'am a little curious since you had the bootm end all apart anyways why not go bigger? Would be a small increase in money for big increase of power!

Regardless looks like a stout build and I hope it gets you what you want.

I did consider adding to the stroke while it was apart. After talking with John at Darkhorse I decided to stay with the stock stroke for reliability. His experiance is that the longer stroke can hamper the longevity of the engine.

My bike already had the 103" kit installed when I bought it, the cylinders and pistons only had 7000 miles and looked like new. So I chose to stay with them. I figure with the cost of cylinders and pistons as cheap as they are I can always change them in an afternoon later if I get more power hungry

I gotcha but you can only got to 107" without boring the cases and it's so labour intensive to go bigger with splitting the cases and everyone seems to want to go bigger all the time LOL!!
