Cam ???????
I have a 2012 Road king classic and i want to install cams for roll on power. This is not a high rev drag bike and will never be raced.
List of items to go along with cam swap are.
Rienhart true dual 3.5
Bigger sucker air cleaner
K&N air filter
Screaming eagle PRO race tuner.
I have been poking around the site and have read a ton of posts on related matters but i still would like to hear from others their thoughts on my
paticullat situation. I have to install a harley cam in order for my warranty to continue. I was looking at the 255 and i believe it was the 259. Does any one have horror stories of either. Or better yet any positive things to mention. Any help is good help at this point cause im torn.
Again im looking for low to mid range roll om power. Not a race machine.

Consider the SE 254e in conjunction with the 255's. The 259e is made for higher up in the rev band than where I think you want to be.
254e is just a notch or three higher than the 255's, which are strong bottom end power makers but run out of puff ~ 4000/4250 rpm.
The key to selecting a cam is to loook at the intake vale closing degrees-- basically the higher the number the higher up the power band the cam works in.
For the RKC weight I would go with the 254e, but everyone has an opinion. You really need to research the SE catalog cam section if you want to stay with HD stuff. Also has a good explanation of what range cams work in and why.

The 255s are a good torque cam. I have a used pair for sale if you want em. I guess if you are warrantee conscious new is what you need

If you're concerned about warranty issues, the 254E would be a safe choice. It is a EPA compliant cam. The 204 would be a a good choice but is a "race" part. The Andrews 48H cam has similar characteristics of the 255 but carries out the power a bit further. This too would be a great two-up, roll on power cam at your stock 103" compression. ...

I have a 11 roadking classic and put in se255 (along with v&h power duels, jackpot slip ons, se ac and pcv) and could not be happier...also I used the stock push rods just so there would be one less thing to go wrong....pulls hard off the line and seems to never run out of power...big,big improvement, but for my taste the v&h power duels with the jackpot mufflers was kind of too loud when I was cruising so I put in the quite baffle, which still is loud when you get on it but quite down when cruising...
