Hi, has anyone used progressive shocks to lower the seat hight on a SG.i am 5' 5" and on my toes when stoped also when ridding 2up bike bottoms out. i am thinking of useing progressive 412-4075b 11.5 shocks.
I put a lowering kit on mine, and am in the process of installing an air ride so I can raise it while under way, and lower it while in slow traffic.
You would benefit most from a Biker's Choice or Fat Baggers Inc (FBI) Drop Seat Kit. It can lower your seating height by up to 3" without sacrificing ride height.
My wife is the same height and rides a 2011 Street Glide. We put on LA Choppers lowering blocks with the stock shock. The blocks lower the rear shock mount 1 inch with only a very minimum, like 3mm change in the angle of the shock. She also got the mean city cycles seat mod to lower the seat about an inch and it narrows the front of the seat. She can now flat foot it with no problem. No discernible difference in the ride quality with the lowering blocks.
I have a spare set of the LA Choppers lowering blocks that came off my 2007 Road King Classic. If your interested in them shoot me a PM. I removed them from my RKC because with the Syreet Glide shocks on my Road King it lowered it a little too much and I was scraping the floorboards often.

sailrider 1, thanks for the info, i tried the LA Choppers lowering blocks but they rub against the hard bags. also tried lowering kit from road 6 customs but shocks bottom out with 45 psi in shocks.
I got some off ebay lowering blocks. then Mean city did the seat and I had the front end lowered 2" . I wouldn't do that again, it bumps on speed breakers and some roads that have shallow pot holes. Then i had to get a shorter kickstand . It never stops. LOL

I too purchased the Road6Customs lowering kit off of eBay! I lowered my '11 FLHX one inch and I am extremely happy with the results. I am only 5'6" with the stock seat and my H-D boots I can now flat foot.
No difference in ride quality and I'm really happy with the quality of this kit.
