Hey guys I bought a fixed rider backrest used for $30 bucks from a guy that had it on a 09 Ultra Classic. I have a 05 Road King, and I know there is a frame difference between the two models. I want to make this work, but can someone tell me if its possible and what type of mounting bracket I would need to install? I've attached a pic of the seat.
Thats the issue...I am not sure which type mount to get. Plus I know I may have to do some mods to make it fit my bike. I thought since there are two holes at that bottom of the bracket on the backrest, that it simply bolted on somewhere.
Thing about the HD backrest is that it's mounted to the fender and not to the seat. Now you could try to order just the mounting hardware for the non-adjustable backrest and somehow engineer your backrest to fit into the mounting bracket.
Good news is you got a GREAT price on that backrest pad....It is part #52423-09a $109.95
Bad new is the mount you need is part #52593-09a and goes for $219.95
This is all the adjustable setup....very nice..you might get lucky to find a used one for cheep that has a damaged backrest pad...Watch E-bay or ask for one in the wanted section.dont buy new as you should be able to find the whole set-up for $150-$175 used!! Good Luck!! :-)
