Default Burnt smell at 80+ MPH

Was on the Atlantic City expressway today, not too much traffic, was able to do a few short bursts to 90MPH. Every time I would get up over 80 I would smell what seemed like electrical or maybe a gasket burning. When I slowed to 70 the smell would go away. The bike only has 3000 miles on it and I recently had to change the left SE slipon due to a scratch. Could the newer muffler be creating the smell? Then again, why only at 80 or above?
Any ideas?

I have the batwing fairing and soft lowers for the winter months. I don't get much wind at all.

Bob, good thought but I didn't notice any oil on the fins. Is it possibe that oil could burn completly off, leaving no evidence?

Do you still have the yellow reflector on the down tube forward of the forward cylinder by the head pipe (right side one specificlly)? I had my reflector on the right side melt all to pieces when installed the my T-Rex true duals. Have not smelled anything weird since removing that thing.

No reflectors on the frame. They were removed.

Off topic, sorry, where did you get your batwing from, Dragonfly? If so how tall is your windshield?

You might be having some oil blowing out the breather bolts. It can fly back and hit the rear pipe. Check and make sure they are tight and the metal crush washers are good. It's not uncommon at high speeds as the higher revs build more crank case pressure.
