Default Flush mount component tweeters

Here's a couple pictures of my flush mount tweeters that I installed. A little nerve wracking cutting your fairing, but worth it in the end.

Thumbs up

That looks real good. I used the 2 bottom gauge holes on mine to mount them. I have oil temp and oil psi gauges mounted elsewhere. I thought hard about doing what you did, I just did not have big enough Man-danglers to cut into the inner fairing.
Nice job.

Looks good... What brand components are you running? Mounting crossovers & amp inside the fairing?

Thanks everyone. Im running the Polk Audio DB6501's. Nice speaker. Have a set in my kick panels in the truck. I made an amp bracket at work that attches to the two screws on the back of the radio. Crossovers mounted to the top of the radio.

Which amp is that? Have you fitted the outer fairing on there yet, looks tight.

Looks like the new Rockford PBR 300/4 amp. Lots of threads about the amp on here. Please post a review on the performance of the system once you get it all finished!

Props on a very neat, custom audio project; and, thanks for the pictures.

A bit more information will make this even better. For example, how did you enlarge the holes for the tweeters, and what did you use to secure them to the inner fairing.

Again, thanks for the report and pictures.

Carl

This mod might not be for everyone as you have to take material away from where the inner mounts to the top holes of your fairing bracket. I used a two inch hole saw. Took my time and worked just fine. Then used a carbide bit on a air grinder to take material away for the tweeter cup to sit flush. The tweeter cups come with all you need to mount. Slide tweeter cup into the inner fairing with metal flanges on. Tighten the screw to tighten the flanges on the back side of the inner fairing. Slide tweeter wires through holes, and push tweeter in to its final resting spot. Here's a pict.
