Default Stage 1 Setup - Opinions requested

Morning all,

I recently purchased, but have not yet installed, V&H Big Radius 2-2 pipes, V&H Fuel Pak and Arlen Ness Big Sucker for my 2011 SG/103.

Anyone have experience with this setup, and if so, would you recommend it or would you go a different direction? Or is there any one of the components you would replace with an alternative?

thanks,

John

I ran a fuelpak temporarily on 3 different bikes. It allows you to do AC, Pipes. I have a Cobra F12000 ProAuto Tuner on both my bikes and it tunes constantly in real time. It provides a right on a/f ratio with any changes to exhaust, engine, ac giving more power, cooler efficiency. FuelPaks can be found for around $218. now, and the Cobra $459. Just a consideration as there are other tuners, some needing mapping etc. Cobra is plug-n-play like fuelpak, but no programming or changes needed if you change your bike.

You'll be happy with that, but if you plan on doing anything else in the future, like a cam, and you will want one even though today you may say no, go with a different tuner. This way, you won't end up with a FuelPak bench ornament later on. I run a PowerVison, I like it, but there are a lot out there to choose from, choose one that meets your needs now and in the future, has good support and someone who knows how to tune with it.

The V&H Big Radius 2-2 is a great looking set up with a wicked sound. I test rode a Street Glide with them and man, they are loud. I have hearing problems and still they were way loud. I could not imagine riding that set up on a road trip. I had a 2-1 Pro Pipe on my 2010 Street Glide and that was border line too loud.

Just my opinion.

Thanks to all for your advice. Guess I'll press ahead with what I've got and re-evaluate later on when my piggy-bank is in better shape.

cheers
