Thanks all for great suggestions. I got it to work and got both bearings out. I did not like tapping that in, either; made me nervous. Also, a real bear was threading that big nut on. It would get hung up at a couple of spots, and wasn't far enough in to grip the flats of the threaded piece, so I had to grab the threads with a wrench. I think I prefer the expanding collette version, but at least it worked. Now, onto the bearing install, which should go a lot smoother, and I already have my new cams (SE 204 & map by Fuel Moto) in the plate and aligned. Then on to the push rods (Smith Bros.) and exhaust. Wish me luck.
