This guy could move tomorrow, or someone could move in with a new Tequilla sunrise the day ofter you buy it. Go with what YOU want, and finish it off the way you like it. You'll be glad you did.

In Nov. I was told you could not order a Teq., mine came 1000 miles to me and I have traced 34 Teq. RKC's. and never saw one in person. I have saw 2 soft tails and 5-6 other Teq's. and they go fast at the dealer. I wanted orange and the bonus is I will probably never see another Teq. RKC on the road. My first choice was a black 2011 RK leftover and save $4500., but none were to be found.
I understand your dilemma. But if it was me, I'd follow through with my original plan, for Big Blue Pearl. If the other guy said anything, I'd 'confess' how much I admired him...and tell him there was just one other thing that was missing, and ask him to tell me, confidentially, what style and brand of underwear he wears...
Seriously, please yourself in this. It's just 'one of those things' in life. That's about what everyone else will think, too.

Just yanking your chain man, get what you like, damn the rest, I just bought a big blue pearl myself. If that's what you want EVERY time you ride with that dude, you will want to whack yourself...
