Been living on the Dyna Forum for a long time now, but I just went up to the closest dealer to me in K.C. and played hardball with them on a new FLHX. I did shop around somewhat. Turned the tables on them, I think, on why I wanted to pay what I wanted to for a new bike. It was a "brutal" 3 hour session. Told the floor manager I'd do 19.3 on a BBP with cruise only. After a little persuasion, he agreed. Then I told him I wanted to go 15% off on all installed parts and 10% on labor. He waffled somewhat but when I listed what I wanted to add and that I had the checkbook in my truck he went over to the parts counter, back to the service dept., and we came to the terms on the items I wanted and sealed the deal. Going with a Stage III Upgrade kit, SE camplate and oil pump, CNC machined heads, V&H power duals, Monster Rounds and a SE A/C. Just gotta wait for about 2 weeks for the heads to come back from the MOCO. The best part of this story is.............. I still get to keep my '10 FXDWG. I've got the best of both worlds now, Ma. "Top O' the World Ma." Won't have a final total 'til then on the price OTD but their #1 Wrench could only smile when talking about the numbers this setup should produce. Ain't wintertime wonderfull.
I was happy with the deal. Didn't gouge them and they didn't gouge me. I bought my WG from them 3 years ago, so we do know one another. The smile the Wrench has is for the TQ/HP. Yeah, I put Torque first because that's what really counts. Are there better setups out there? Maybe. But the MOCO has a new policy/warranty aimed at their performance mods installed by their Techs in their shops. 15% here and 10% there allows me to plan future additions. I'll put up some pics and numbers when she comes home in a week or two.
