Default Chrome Peeling how to stop it

I have a small chrome peel on the front rim---does anyone know the best procedure to stop the chrome from peeling any further.

I've been cleaning the rims with orangeblast degreaser, could this be the problem.

thanks,
Lyn in ATL

And most defenantly stay away from battery acid and muriatic acid all can kill chrome.

Some times you can get battery acid spray from some older trucks on the road when the systems have been over charged or low slung battery trays get road debris kicked up to the battery and crack the cases. I stay clear of all trucks, and older cars especially.

In a pinch, grab the old ladys' clear nail polish to stop further deterioration of chrome until you can do the job right. Same goes for chipped paint.
