I'm 5'7" and looking for some ways to make my Sg fit me better. Im currently looking for a reach seat, looking into DIY air ride, adjustable highway pegs, and some way to move my floor boards out a bit. I have seen many posts about people wanting to extend the floor boards but nothing about just spreading them out so I can get my entire feet on them. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I'm 5'8", I don't feel vertically challenged, but I lowered my bike in the front with progressive monotubes -2", I have Bitchin Baggers -3/4 in the rear. There are kits to extend the floor boards out, an easy way is to buy 1" longer bolts and use 1" spacers. HD sells highway peg mounts that have extended reach, I hope I may have helped some.
I'm 5'7" also. This is what I did with my RG and can stand flat footed. Progressive mono-tube -1" in the front...11.5" Progressive shocks...sent seat to Mean City Cycle to be reworked (narrowed & reduced). I love my ride now!
I Had my stock FLHRC seat narrowed and lowerd buy MeanCity super thrifty way cheaper than buying a new seat .
Total cost including shipping both ways just under $150 .
The seat turned out super nice.
I couldn't reach the kickstand hardly to get it up and down.
So I also orderd the HD kickstand exstention kit $30 , easy mode really helped.
I took my new SteelToed Enginer boots to a cobler and had thicker heal and sole added.
i got a set of Bitchin Bagger 11" Drop Shocks also .

Definately going to try the longer bolts and spacers.

I can reach the ground, but depending on the shoes I'm wearing sometimes not flat footed. My biggest issues come when I'm backing the beast up. I also have been riding for a long time (not all HD and not all street) and have never really felt unstable but with this bike I just need a little more grip on the pavement.
