Boom! Audio High Performance Speakers - nice upgrade!
The truth is, I don't listen to the stereo much while riding. And although I read (and admire) every thread about audio upgrades, the truth is that I'm not gonna spend that kind of money to create a high fidelity system on my bike.
But I did want SOMETHING better than the stock system with its low dynamic range and poor quality output. So I though I'd try the Boom! High Performance Speakers that HD markets. It's not a terribly expensive upgrade, and might be a good compromise.
Install was easy, quality of sound is significantly improved, and they look great. Just the ticket for me! If you're looking for modest improvement for modest bucks, these would be a good option.
i also put the boom audio in yesterday. the sound was a huge improvement. true my 98 speakers were pretty old but being 8 ohm and not easy to find this was a decent solution. dont know why they used 8 ohm for just a couple years but its not worth the added expense of changing the entire stereo.so overall im happy with the boom audio speakers
Is the rear replacement just a matter of taking out the four screws, unplugging and replugging the new units and rescrewing them in?
Dave
Yes it is Dave .... It's a straight forward, easy task with no special tools involved ... and as Pastor John stated, the improvement is well worth the minimal investment. I purchased mine during a Christmas sale at my local dealer ... got 20% off!
I'm putting a "pair" on soon (I don't have rear speakers on my EGC). I had heard good things from the dealer about them, but that's like asking the barber if you need a haircut:+). Thanks for the post - now I have confidence that it will be a good upgrade.
