Flats Vs Spoke Wheels:
Make sense? In the interest of possiblynot being completely stranded due to a flat, I am considering swapping my spoke wheels from my current bike to a bike I am going to sell and putting its factory mag wheels backon it. This way, if I have a flat, Iwill temporarily beable touse a tire plug on these tubeless tires which is not an option with my spoked tubed tires. Yes, I understand the risks but these plugs sure saved the day a few times when I used to road race cars and a rock in the parking lot caused a puncture on a hot, soft, slick type tire.

I use the Stop'n'Go plug kit. It has msuhroom shaped plugs (better than string type), special tools to install and CO2 bottles to inflate. I have used a couple of plugs on the kids truck and they have been great. I have also repaired stranded bikers but none of my own so far. I have gotten emails from bikers I assisted and they said the plugs worked great.

What risk? plugs will take you safely anywhere. Worst case they leak down. You could not give me wire wheels on a large bike, not only will they leave you stranded but Ive read plenty of posts on wobble and warped wheels due to broken and loose spokes. I waited 2 months for my road glide to get one without wires when they had one sitting on the floor and even offered to let me have it without the extra 450.00 chare for the spokes.

All my barhoppers always had spokes. I've had my fair share of replacing and patching tubes and it has alwayssucked.
For my Bagger -Factory Mags, CO2 Cartridges, and StopNGo plugs are the only way to Fly.

I never go anywher without my plug kit. even if you feel they are not safe for the long haul, it will get you to somewhere to have a good repair done. Make sure you also have a nice sharp razor blade packed away to trim off excess once plug is in. Have had flats repaired on the road in ten minutes with a good CO2 cartridge kit and plug kit!
