Default Replaced windshield

I just replaced my stock windshield with a new Clearveiw windshield. I am wondering if it is a big deal that I can remove the new windshield without pulling up on the release springs? I do have to pull it forward pretty hard to pull it off. I am not sure if it is ok to ride my bike like that. Any one else have this issue?

The springs on my Road King windshield don't really serve much purpose. The mount is just sort of a press fit into those rubber grommets. Shouldn't be an issue unless you're riding backwards.
