K guys i have been away for a while and looks like I missed all the other ?'s about this, and maybe I missed an important part here, but I use a gas cap hanger. I bought 5 of them from a guy on here a couple years ago and they work GREAT!!! I was riding with 4 other guys for a 1800 miler and I gave them all one at our first fuel stop and many other riders asked about them, and they still do. No idea if this guy is still around or not, but do some looking. It is a VERY simple design that fits inside cap and comes out with a hook on the end. I hang mine on the clutch cable, buddy hans his on throttle cable (pre TBW). Work great and super simple. Again if I missed something important, let me know. If it is just another same-ole-same-ole, I get it already. PM me if ya want his info, I have info at home in shop.

They run $3.00 each and the shipping is $2.95
It is basically a piece of wire with a hook on one end to hang off of your throttle or clutch cable and a spiral hook on the other that "snaps" into the inside of the gas cap. No holes to drill ... just thought I'd pass on the link. Order several, there is no extra charge for shipping on more than one item.
Set mine right by the tank neck. Can't close the lid with it there. Best tip I read, use the cap on the end on the pump nozzle to keep it from dripping on tank.
