Default FLHR minus the crash bars.

Hi guys- I am toying with the idea of taking off my crash bars ( engine and bag guards) but I am a bit unsure how she will look.

Does anyone have any pics 2009 and up) just to give me an idea without going to the trouble of doing it. Any will be appreciated.

It looks badass. Here's one with forward controls and apes. Great looking scoot.

Here's my '07 with just the bars in front of the bags. I left them so when I'm backing up a small incline I have something to hold onto for leverage.

They do look nice that way but crash bars do amazing things for you and the bike when you go down or just drop it. They pay for themselves big time when you need them.

That is my thought. I have seen many in magazines, but none on the road without the bars. I had a tip over with my last Ultra. In my garage, very embarrasing. Picked it up, no damage at all. Those bars saved me a lot of cash.

My bars have saved me too many times. It does look good however.

They make the bike easier to pick up too if you drop it.

Good thing you didn't ask about a FLHR without bars and mention riding without a helmet in the same thread....

My signature pic without crash bars. I am putting on hard bags this summer.
