Nut08ultra and Ratchet2012, i was like you before. I was searching on this wonderful forum and thinking. Nobody here had an ape on a bagger when i choose mine. I took the 10" for 2 reasons, first is that i didn't need to change anything to mount it and the second one is that it wasn't upper the fairing.
So i ordered an 10" PYO. A too much expensive bar, a pita to wire but i forgot these two things. At the end i discovered what it was said on the forum, an ape on a bagger is very comfortable. I had problem with blood in my hands with oem bar and not now with the ape even if i ride all day long.
I've decided to do it . . . Now its just a matter of finding the right one and ATTEMPTING the install, lol. I want to find one for around $100. I can't do the $300 ones.
Dennis Kirk and Phat performance has the 10" PYO bagger apes (this is what I have) for under $100. I had $150 into my install, I had to buy the 1 piece riser clamp, and I also changed my riser bushings to Poly ones.

I really like the idea of keeping my hands shielded from the weather. I ride pretty much year round so keeping my hands a tad warmer is definitely a plus. The "under a $100 thing makes it even sweeter!!! I think I'll probably end up rotating a little aft as well so that I won't have too hrd of a time reaching while "laid back", propped up on the pegs :-)
Just to get this all straight, are you guys saying that I dont need to change clutch cable, brake line and throttle by wire connectors with these 10" apes?

i don't know for tbw but you don't need to change clutch cable and brake line. I didn't need to extend wires too.
