Smile Touch up paint

Looking for input on using touch up paint. We have a 2012 Road King and I bought the touch paint kit which consists of a base coat and a top coat. There are no specific instructions on the bottles. What is the correct procedure?

Thanx

Shake well, apply the base coat and then the top coat. I have used the H-D touch up bottles and they were a good match.

They are a good match, blends very well. When using on a small spot I haven't bothered with the clear coat. Make sure the area is clean and shake it well. A little goes a long way.

Buy your self some 3000 or 2000 grit sand paper and some polishing compound. Lay down the touch up layer and it dry. Then with sandpaper make it level so its not a bump and it lays flat. Use some polishing compound to work out lil swirls from paper. Then apply clear let dry and re apply polishing compound. to get clear to lay flat

I agree with Big Dave, only a little different, I first clean the area with rubbing alcohol then I put 3-4 coats, waiting 24 hours between each coat. You have now filled in the area higher than the sounding area. Then after 2-3 days I take the 3000 or 2000 grit sand paper and wet sand the area until it is smooth with the rest of the area, I then use the rubbing compound, then some polishing compound and then some “scratch X” by Meguiar’s. I then polish it and then wax the spot. I do not use the clear coat even though I paid for it. I have been doing this for years and it always turns out great. You do have to have patience. Good luck.

Yeah that's the way I do it too. I just blasted out answer. But I do add the clear. But fill and sand is way to go. Then polish.

FYI tons of videos on Utube how to do it.
