I am currently getting my Ultra ready to make
the Run for The Wall this yearfrom L.A. to D.C.
and wanted recommend a few things if you may
have been putting them off or maybe just blown
them off as not needed. I have changed the fuel filter
and it was needed, I put new brake pads front and
rear, flushed the brake system until renewed with
synthetic fluid, VERY Noticable Difference in feel
and response. Will soon put on new tires Michelin
Commander Ii's are what I am gonna give a go
this time. Change plugs and service all fluids right
before the time to head out to Rancho Cucamunga
and the start of the run. I am siting right at 26K
on the clock right now and very glad to have done
all this so far.
Enjoy the trip. I did it the whole thing back in 2005. Rode the central route and was a member of the gas crew. It was an amazing and eye opening run. As I told my buddy, you can't explain it, you have to do it.
I went in 06. Had a blast,If you can, hook up with Patriot Harley Davidson in Fairfax Virginia, they have their own parade from the dealership to the pentagon. Its a very nice ride that moves quick. If your riding the parade from pentagon to the wall, take along food and water as it was in very short supply when i went.Maybe they have changed the vending arrangments in the last 6 years,I'm trying to talk my wife into going again this year. It's a very moving experience, Ride safe and thank a Vet...
