I have a 2010 SG with 103 kit....and 2 in 1 Vance & Hines High Output exhaust, and SE snorkle breather......... 100HP 100TQ ..... I am considering going to the Thunder Max system ...... Pros? Cons?

Thanks in advance!

Sorry bud, but I am waving the BS flag on 100 and 100 w/no cams and no tuner.

Ask yourself this question; who's spent more money on R&D, Zipper's or Delphi? The Delphi ECM is tough as nails, and the stock functionality is fantastic. With a flash tuner like a Power Vision or a TTS, you can access pretty much the entire thing, and return it to stock in less than a minute.

The Thundermax doesn't have nearly as robust of a chassis, nor does it have the sophistication in the programming. No knock sensor either. I wouldn't run one if it was given to me.

Since you listed some of the mods and did not list cams or a tuner he figured you didn't have one yet. What tuner are you using now??? Are you not happy with it and that's why you are considering the T-Max??

Funny, I don't see anything about a tuner or cams in the aforementioned and yet you say 100HP and 100 TQ.

I do not know of any bike that has the configuration that you listed that gets those kinds of numbers do you?

BTW, where does it say you do have one?

It would be kind of hard to get those numbers with what you have listed don't you think?

Hmm, interesting train of thought. When my stock Delphi ECM bit the dust on my 07 RKC, I asked myself, replace it with another Delphi with no warranty or a Thundermax with autotune with a three year warranty ? I chose the Thundermax. Yes it was about $200 bucks more but it doesn't require any further tuning once you load the base map. Just ride the bike and it auto tunes to changing conditions on the fly. I love it and wouldn't go back to stock if you gave me a Delphi.

I just ordered a TBW TMax for my SE Streetglide. I currently have a SE Protuner and my bike makes a ton of power and tq. I bought the software for the tuner etc so I could make any adjustments as needed. Once I got studying the software and learning about the Pro Tuner I decided to pitch it and go with the TMax.

I know there are opinions everywhere on which tuner is the best and I respect them all.

I have worked with the TMax on a buddies bike most of the winter and it is great. Much easier than the Pro Tuner. What really sold me was when I grabbed the throttle of my brother in laws 08 SG with a built 113. I can't even explain how responsive it is. He went from a SERT to the TMax and he'll never go back.

The new TMax has some great features as well. You can load 5 maps in it and change them without a computer while your out riding. You can also change the idle and speedo without a computer while your riding. There is nothing that I'm aware of that has those same features.

I will admit that I'm a little nervous that if I have a problem with the TMax far from home I could be screwed. But I'll take the chance because that can happen with the stock ECM as well.
