I just installed this same unit Mon, any chance your blue t-connecters didn't cut through the wires to get a good connection? After I made the connections and before I put everything back together I hooked up my Iphone and tried it out and everything worked perfectly. Other than the t-connecters everything is plug and play so with all the extra paper copy printouts of how to tap into the power and ground It I would think it would have to be the unit. Did you get the extra paper that showed the blown-up picture of were to tap into to? They even had a sticker with the same picture attached to the outside of the box so there would be no way to make a mistake. If not I can take a picture and post.
I think mine is either the unit itself or an update needed on the radio. I bought a 12v tester to make sure I had power coming thru the blue t taps and I do. During times like this its hard not to act like a 5yr old that gets a present and no batteries at Christmas. I want to play with my new toy damnit. lol
Really interested the your outcome with this, as I was planning on ordering one of these units this week.........Good Luck, I feel your "No Batteries" pain.!
I just got back from a 302mile ride and it was awsome to have my phone charged all day and to be able to change songs with out having to look at the Iphone. So I can see how upsetting this must be for you. Hopefully you can get it worked out quickly.
I noticed today while riding and listening to my Pandora app that when I lost signal I could easily switch over to the ipod and on its own when the pandora regained its signal it started back up on its own and started playing again. After it lost signal it went back to the Ipod. At least it was music even if it was cutting out. But knowing the area I would be riding in would not get a signal I turned the Pandora off. I wonder if the XM app would work the same way?
I hope an amp fits cause I just ordered one. I personally don't think it will be a problem to fit....but.....I'm also the guy who can't get his damn Ipod to work on the radio. I'm calling in just over 12 hours, I hope it's a simple solution. Stay tuned
mine won't work but when i took a flashlight and looked hard at the face of the plug i could not see the metal ends of the pins i installed so i carefully pulled the face off then adjusted the pins and when i put it back together everything worked. and i could see all the pin ends.
