Default 08 flhr quick release backrest

Question 1 am I the only one with a problem with the quick release backrest for the 2008 Roadking? everyone who sits on my bike complains about how uncomfortable it is when you look at the way its installed on the bike it sits about 3 inches over the back of the passanger seat? when I asked about it at Hd near me, they said they have never had any complaints! What are my options?
Chop,Cut,weld, then chrome (do able) anything easer?

Thanks Ron

There is a short and tall version of the same backrest.

If I can find a solid mount it may work the ones I have seen are much farther back like 1.5 inches behind the back of the seat just need to find one!

I dont like the way that sounds... going to install one on my ultra and the OL will not be happy if it pushes her further forward than the tour pak does, she already complains about that.

I'd find someone with one installed and try that because i kid you not I have gone solo, until I find something to replace the problem. My daughter who is in her 20's complained about her back after 45 min ride with me!!!! This is a road king not a sportster they are supposed to have some comfort no?
