Bonus on the head work, I'd say a screaming deal. Bolt it up, tune it and ride. Tell us what you think about how it runs post head work.

Tune it and ride this year, and if you want to capitalize on the machine shop's mistake, you can talk to a builder about boosting compression and running more of a performance cam. If you plan for an upgrade next winter, you can spend the next few months looking for bargains on componants.

 

Yep, I'd have it tuned, and if the your shop sent the heads out for you, they should throw in the tune as well because you would 't need to get it tuned had they not inadvertently ported the heads.
