True Dual help???
Just traded my '10 SG that had Vance & Hines big radius (still have pipes) in for a '12 SG. Thinking about going with a true dual setup between the Vance & Hines headers or the Bub 7's (undecided on slip ons). Please educate me on the differences between the style that route under the bike and the ones that route behind the rear cylinder.
On the trip home from the dealer the '12 felt alot stronger on the bottom end that the '10 not sure how much is the bigger 103" motor over the 96" or having a full-system and not the shorter Big Radius. Thanks in advance for the help.

the optimal exhaust tuning comes from having same length tracts, whether connected or duals.
that is why the rear cylinder exhaust on many models has extra length added, which can be done on the new frame by routing under the chassis ( you'll remember seeing some rear headers loop forward around he timing cover to add length).
the 103" has more torque than the 96"
I'd suggest the pipes on your '10 were not optimal and a "looks/sound" pipe rather than a performance pipe--- that is why you notice more bottom end on the new bike ( plus it is shiny and new and you love it).
If you want to enhance that power it is easy with a well designed header system which retains the flow between the cylinders, or you can go with your favorite "looks/sound" pipe
o2 sensors the same size 10/12
( for those wanting to track changes year to year; google 20XX model year technical forum .pdf, this will find you the dealer introduction doc. which lists new features added )

I found that I lost low rpm torque on my '06 Road King when I went to the Bub7 True Duals. It had much better high rpm power, but who uses that? When I sold my '06 and bought an '11 Road Glide Ultra, I kept the 2-1-2 set-up for the torque. Jackpot makes a set of headers that utilizes your stock heat shields, and O2 sensors. You can use whoever's slip-on mufflers and keep that low-end grunt that the 103" has so much of.
check out m.g.s custom bikes duals...seen a set last weekend at local dealer...awesome look (big chunky billet tips) and according to a trusted employee there they made the best numbers of and true duals they dyno'd
