ORIGINAL: Corndog

What do you think? Do they?
Yer kiddin', right?

Me and my bros invented 'em back in the '70s. We wuz ripped and liked the tinkly sound. So we put 'em on our AMF Sporties. PeeVee blew his to smithereens doing a burnout; Kirk got married to a fat gal, had a pot-full of li'l snot-nosed brats, and quit ridin';I blew my shoulder out, along with several stroker motors, frames, and front ends. Somebody else came along and made a fortune off 'em, screwin' people outta cash just like an ol' snake-oil salesman.

Moral is: They work fer the greedy bastid whut sold 'em.

(Hey, if'n you believe little pieces of cheap metal can protect you from something that doesn't exist, then you'll believe my li'l tale! ) (Even if 98% of it is true!)

I have my reservations. I had a bell, got into an accident and spent a month in the hospital. The ironic thing is that while I was lying in the street I looked to my side and there was the bell laying right beside me. Maybe it saved my from death or a more serious permanant typeinjury or maybe it didn't work at all.
It depends on your perspective.

heck ya they work, they jingle when the bike is up right , upside down, on its left side , on its right side, i believe they make noise all through the accident.

really though in 04 i was on a trip from michigan to the rot ralley in austin tx. we stoped in shreeveport(sp) at the HD dealer and my buddie tossed me a bell for my new bike, that was cool, i droped it in my pocket andwent on with the trip. We were on our way back from tx in southern Ill when a deer steped out in front of me and I hit it. i kept the bike on two wheels and was able to pull it off the side of the road, after we figured out my leg was not broke just traped by the crash bar wraped around it. the first question out of his mouth was where was my bell, I told him in my pocket and thats why he said this happened to me. All the other bikes had thier bell on the bike. Maybe he was right, all I know $6000.00 later in repairs I put that darn bell on the bike!

I witnessed the magic of the bell. Me and a few friends took off to the mountains about 2 years ago, while on the ride, one of my buddies was taking in the scenery and not watching the road and managed to take a 1/4 mile trip thru the kudzu on the shoulder of the rtoad. Funny thing about it, before he hit the kudzu, there was a little angel on his bell. After we started picking the kudzu from his frame and other parts (no wreck, thank goodness) we noticed th angel bailed off but the bell was still there. LOL. The bell works I tell ya!!! [&:]
