I am nearly finished with a Hawg Wired/Alpine install on my 08 Ultra. The HK radio took a dump last year and after much research I decided not to pursue constant repairs on the HK.
I decided on the Alpine CDA 9886M head unit with XM Direct 2 modual. I chose the HW front to back with the 6.5 front speakers. First I have to say I am a tool maker by trade and I tend to pay close attention to drawings and specification. This install was one of the easiest things I have done on my bike. I took my time so I did a clean install but everything went together flawlessly. I wish everything was built as well as the Hawg Wired products. Frank at Dragos Bike Works gave me a great deal and was super to work with. I will post pictures later.
