First and foremost a HUGE thanks to all that helped me along the way. If it we not for the AWESOME people here willing to take the time to make sure to answer questions and impart their knowledge many of us would not be able to do this type of install.
This is what I installed in my 2014 Ultra:
Front fairing speakers ~ DD AW6.5 w AT28 tweets
BK speaker brackets
(2) JL MHX280/4
Alpine SPR60 (rear Speakers)
BK breakout harness w 2 LL
Fused Splitter
I set the amps at 24vac and everything sounds great to my ears.
I rode for 2 hours yesterday and at the end I think I started to hear an intermittent "miss" in the front left speaker but by changing songs it seemed to go away. SO far very happy with this setup.
I do have a question, I have 1.19.3 software installed already, should I download and install 1.21.3 and do a radio reset?
First off paul, super nice install!! Great job brotha! I knew you'd have a smile on your face when you fired it up. I would not go to 1.21.3 personally. I've tried lots and lots of SW updates and found 1.19.0 to have the best sound. If you decide to swap SW versions, you can easily revert back to any other version you'd like as long as you can locate it.
Looks good under the hood man. Love a clean install.
Chris thanks for the props....I was wondering about reverting back to the previous update. I have been trying to find 1.19.0 and not having much luck. What did you think of the mounting of the splitter, I mounted that to the radio after tapping the holes to 10-24 for screws, cleaned up a lot of wiring.
Had old 1.19.1 went to 1.21.3 sounds better. But for me going to whatever version that has been tested and that has done away with me having to push accept was a must that thing bugs me.
